Fears are something that can scare you away from doing something you’ve always dreamed of doing. You can set out to achieve a goal and then something may happen and your dream can go down the drain within minutes.
When this happens you have two options to consider. One is to let the dream go away and the other is to overcome the fear and set out again to achieve your goal. I found a quote that fits perfectly with the second option.
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.”
James Neil Hollingworth
In my opinion James really had something when he said that quote. Some thing is more important than the fear.
Fear is a feeling and nothing more than that, so it’s likely after you think about what you’re going through and you decide what actions you can take to overcome it, you’ll be able to achieve your goals.
Mostly likely your fear is because you’re afraid of the outcome of a situation. For example if you’re afraid to talk with your friends and family about your business, why do you feel that way? Simply put, you’re afraid of the outcome. You have a fear of the word no and you’re afraid how you’re going to feel if they say “NO.”
You need to take “you” out of the picture because in this industry it is not about you; it is about them. (The person you’re talking to) So once you take “you” out of the equation things will start to fall into place.
