A Little About Laura
I had a rocky up-bringing. There was my mom, my sister, two brothers and I. I grew up in a very rural area in central Pennsylvania where most of the population was Mennonite or Amish.Being a single parent household and not having a lot of money, means we didn’t get to go to friends’ houses or play a sport in school or have video games. Instead we would play baseball with crab apples from the tree in the yard or go fishing or make our own adventures.
From early on I learned the meaning of hard work. I got my first job at age 14 so I could help out with the bills. Flash forward to age 17, I met the man of my dreams and we moved in together. I graduated high school and had a scholarship for college, but I turned it down so I could work and continue to live with Matt and help out with the bills.
Trapped In the Rat Race
So after getting married and having three beautiful girls, I felt like I was trapped in the rat race and I never got to see my family. Like so many people, I struggled for many years trying to figure out how to balance family and work. So finally we were at a point in our life where we could afford for me to quit my job with the state and come home to my family. Shortly after that, unforeseen things happened and bills started piling up.
Starting My Work at Home Journey
So I started searching the internet for ways to make money from home. I found an opportunity and when I first started, I found a real niche working with other stay at home moms. As a mom myself, I felt incredibly passionate about helping other moms do the same thing of staying home with their children. After about a year into being with the company, I took on more roles like a Social Media and Marketing trainer for the company. At the same time I was already hosting two other trainings while trying to duplicate my business with others.
A Fresh Start
Then something happened that changed our lives forever. We lost our home and everything we owned in a house fire. Our lives were turned upside down. We stayed with my 80 year old grandfather while our home was being re-built. During that time I had put my home business on hold because I had many other things on my plate. It was also during that difficult time that I began to transform myself in a new way; my mindset, my attitude and my perception. It was vitally important for me to let go of my limiting beliefs in myself and my business and that I needed to build new more empowering ones.
Breaking Away
So I made a really big decision to leave my home business after building it for 4 ½ years and while I’ve met some amazing people through my journey and have had successes, I realized that I needed to follow my heart. And by following my heart, I realize that it was time for me to move onto bigger and better things.
Success From the Inside Out
An amazing door has opened up for me and I partnered with people who are completely focused on transforming people and changing their lives. I have learned that true success is built, from the inside-out. I started to really work on myself and began to take steps each day to get closer to my goals.
I am finally fulfilling my purpose of helping as many people as I can. I encourage you to Be Courageous, Be Open To Change, and Love Yourself. We can have, be, and do anything we desire out of life and are only limited to what you think you can do. I believe we all have a spiritual responsibility to make a difference, a moral and ethical obligation to strive to reach our full potential and become successful in life by sharing and adding value to the world. Anything less is simply selling yourself short, robbing yourself and the people around you.
